The Yucatan is more than Cancun and the Riviera Maya. In fact these Mexican tourist destinations are not even located in the state of Yucatan itself (but on the Yucatan Peninsula). Actually, the state of Yucatan, one of the 31 states of Mexico holds much different treasures and it was definitely a place I wanted to explore deeper. So on my last trip to Yucatan Peninsula and I headed west from Mexico’s Caribbean coast to explore this state. I am so glad I did.
Podcast o2: Travel to the State of Yucatan
After a quick visit to the state of Yucatan to walk Chichen Itza and the colonial town of Valladolid, I learned there was much more to the Yucatan and for my next trip I decided to take a 6 day / 5 night adventure across the state of Yucatan working with Premium Yucatan.
The adventure includes a relaxed stay art the restored Hacienda Xcanatun, a trip to Celestun to walk along a seashell filled virgin beach and see the famous pink flamingos with time at Hotel Xixim and then time exploring the capital city Merida with my home base at the restored French manor at Hotel Casa Azul. Listen in as he shares thoughts on the state of Yucatan, describes highlights from his adventures, interviews owners and operators associated with Premium Yucatan brand, leaves us with travel tips, and gives us his special souvenir with the “Stay Adventurous Mindset Moment” learned from his adventures.
