Fun in the Finger Lakes of New York; Staying Adventurous Episode 25

As a native New Yorker, I know my state, but I have yet to experience all it offers. This past summer I took a step forward and discovered the southern tier of the Finger Lakes with stops in Corning, Elmira, Hammondsport and Watkins Glen. I always knew the location had well, Lakes, and I visited three (Seneca Lake, Keuka Lake and Cayuga Lake) of the eleven (not ten fingers?) to enjoy fun with some outside adventures on the water and along the lakefronts. I also knew about the wines. Well, I thought I knew and expected a sweet wine mecca, largely Riesling, but then I discovered award winning wines – both whites and reds to not just my liking but with national acclaim and medals to prove it.

Plenty of Quality Wine to Drink with a View

Even with still enjoying the taste of these pleasant offerings, it was the uniqueness of the region and its attractions that remain my biggest takeaway; magnificent museums, stunning state parks and waterfalls, the actual study of Mark Twain, and taking flight in the Soaring Capital of America in Harris Hill to name a few.

Staying Adventurous – Episode 25

Yes, a visit to the Finger Lakes, my first, made me realize, I have another reason to sing “I Love New York.” I trust you will feel the same after you listen in.
