Postcard – Hand Rolled Cigars in Catemaco, Veracruz

The ATMEX (Adventure Tourism Mexico) conference held in September officially opened in Catemaco, Veracruz. The event was attended by much of the top political brass from the state of Veracruz and also Gloria Guevara, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism at the time.  Attendees watched inspirational videos, listened to speeches, dined, smoked local cigars and of course tasted  tequila.

Numerous stands or booths also highlighted much of the offerings of Veracruz as we entered the grounds for the event. My favorite was the hand rolled cigars of Veracruz. I definitely took a few as they make good souvenirs. However, none of them made it home since I had a few more nights in Veracruz. Yes, I smoked them.

Stay adventurous, Craig

This image is part of Mexican March Madness 2013. This year it is 31 photos in 31 days. Enjoy. Also, I’d like to thank ATMEX and Veracruz TB for extending an invitation for me to attend as press. Gracias.

Oh I can picture you now, walking down a side street, rolling that stogie gently between your fingers, breathing in deeply to catch every element of it’s sweet scent, then breaking down, tearing the end with your teeth and bumming a light. Only live once, indulge!
