Sunset Sunday-The Eastern and Oriental Sunset of Penang

I opened the door from my room and stepped out to watch my first sunset in Penang. Being on the ground floor definitely has its advantages.  I grabbed my camera and walked the few steps to the pool to capture the view of the palm trees, the sea wall, and the pinkish hue in the distance. It was another beautiful night in Malaysia.

the view just outside my room... room 008.

Following up the luxurious stay at the Four Seasons in Langkawi would not be an easy task, but the Eastern and Oriental Hotel in Georgetown proved a perfect choice. The recently refurbished property’s colonial charm and touch of old world decadence provided an oasis inside the multicultural world heritage city of Georgetown. It became a great entry point to the Malaysian island of Penang.

But before I’d explore the city or the island, I planned an evening of relaxation after the challenging ferry ride on the straight of Malacca. Tonight was about debating cocktail selections, taking a dip in the pool, and of course watching the sunset colors excite the sky.  Happy Sunset Sunday.

Stay adventurous, Craig
