Make the most of the natural wonder of the Lake District and get pulled along on the back of a power boat! From Low Wood Bay on Lake Windermere, you can experience the exhilarating sport of water skiing as well as wake boarding and knee boarding. Although it looks a bit tricky and you are sure to end up in the water a few times, an instructor is in the boat with you so you can usually go from complete beginner to pretty competent in just one session.

Imagine jumping out of a plane at over 14,500 feet in the air and free falling for over a minute before opening the parachute and taking in the spectacular view of Cumbria. It is defiantly an experience that you won’t ever forget.

Caving and Potholing in Cumbria

See an exceptional view of the inside of the hillsides of Cumbria. Once the workplace to a large number of miners, some of the intersecting caves are now open for guided trips underground, including the old copper mines near Coniston. Travel through the cramped caves and learn about the life of the miners, as well as have an adrenaline pumping experience at the same time.

The popularity of mountain biking is currently taking the UK by storm and trail centres and mountain biking routes are popping up all over the place. One of the best in the Lake District is the North Face Trail at Grizedale Forest. The 16km adventure trail is split into nine different but demanding sections, with steep climbs and quick descents as well as berms and curves, which are sure to please even the most hardened thrill seeker. The tough ride is rewarded with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
