Mexico is a diverse country of 31 states and a federal district. It offers so much to the traveler and although my adventures have taken me to 15 states and include 16 months living in its capital city, I know I’ve only scratched the surface.

Why Travel to Mexico?

the ruins…

Because it offers so much to any, and all travelers. It is a great place for romance or family travel, a destination where you can explore cultures and history, or a place foodies can visit for the pure pleasure of its cuisine. Mexico offers sun, beach and adventure travel; available all in one trip.

the colonial streets

Yes, in Mexico you can find everything, from wineries to tequila distilleries, beautiful beaches to majestic mountains, tropical jungles to forests, caves to sacred cenotes, ancient ruins to modern art, mariachi bands to Mayan mysteries, colonial pueblos to cosmopolitan cities – all with its warm hospitality to discover. Sound like an advertisement? Well, it’s true, it is an amazing destination.

But is Mexico Still dangerous?

What about the Border? I am sure no place is without its troubles, but I believe the biggest danger inside Mexico is falling in love with it, and I have fallen hard. Very hard. In fact I travel to Mexico at least four times a year, every year since 2009.

As for the border, I have not spent considerable time there but one adventure through the border state of Chihuahua included twenty four hours in Juarez, and even there I never felt threatened. As for the popular places and resorts found in Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Los Cabos, Riviera Maya, Tulum and more, they are extremely safe. Plus there is always travel insurance for Mexico.

We took our family (four kids ages 12-18 at the time) to Cozumel in December 2021 and we can’t wait to go back. Loved our week snorkeling and riding scooters there.
