Where to Stay in South Beach? – Hotel Victor

South Beach. The very words bring a smile to many of us. Its sultry scene provides the chance to “see and be seen.” Whether you explore the beach, people watch on ocean drive, or head out to the clubs late night, it’s all about looking beautiful.

Visitors “do” South Beach many ways; some want ocean views; others crave proximity to the beach and the party, still others opt for luxury and a sense of pampering. Plus, don’t forget the desire to experience the art deco style.

At Hotel Victor guests receive most of what they are looking for when booking the trip to South Beach.

The View.

Views can change your mood in an instant and make a vacation an experience. Sure, some people don’t mind looking at a parking lot; some hotels in South Beach offer such views, but other people enter the room and instantly move the curtains and look out the window (or step onto the balcony). If you are the latter, this hotel’s design provides Ocean Views.

Location, Location, Location

The location of any hotel is important, and Hotel Victor is central to the action of South Beach. Located on Ocean Drive between 11th and 12th streets, the hotel is across from beach access, and walkable from the News Cafe to Lincoln Road. Also, there is no need for a car as all taxi fares will be short and reasonable.

South Beach Amenities

the room...

On a trip where you need to always look your best, what comes along with the room is vital. At Hotel Victor, guests enjoy a comfortable bathrobe, bath salts for the large marble tub, an on-site concierge, a dining discount at the attached restaurant, access to beach chairs and umbrellas, and a second floor infinity pool with a view. Certain amenities can make a difference; the Hyatt’s Hotel Victor delivers here too, although WiFi comes with a fee.

Art Deco Design

Guests might stumble upon a tour group discussing the hotel’s history in the lobby. With certain regulatory restraints, the lobby desk might seem missing (in another room) and perhaps the jellyfish theme might not make it feel very welcoming, but when you learn the history, you gain a deeper understanding. I did.

Recommendation Summary: For those wanting to experience the sizzle of South Beach, Hotel Victor offers the right balance of location, view, amenities, and decor for a perfect party weekend. As for cost, you don’t go to South Beach on a budget trip – it’s about bling. You can expect to pay over $200 per night.

Stay luxurious, Craig

This post is part of the Where to Stay series. I spent one night on the property as a guest. And now, when I return to SoBe, I’ll make sure I stay here.
