Reasons to Attend the 2014 New York Travel Festival #NYTF

Last year, I wrote a post on the reasons to attend the New York Travel Festival, and they continue to ring true again this year. The reasons; a focus on travel niches, an impressive list of speakers and panelists, the Saturday venue of the National Bohemian Hall in New York (I am Czech after all) , Sunday’s schedule and travel inspiration are all reasons to come out again this year. The 2014 New York Travel Festival is on Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27th.

At the 2013 NYTF, I shared my love for Mexico

But wait there is more. For 2014, there are a few more reasons to come out to the festival.

Ask an Expert in Expert’s Corner

New to this year is a chance to ask the experts, in “Experts Corner.” Attendees can schedule time with “travel experts” to ask them questions about the industry, probe for details about a career in travel, discuss destinations, dive into specific travel niches and more.

Ever want to ask an eco-tourism expert how to properly choose a sustainable resort? Ever wonder how travel writers and photographers make travel a career? Curious how certain bucket list destination(s) hold up? Well, now you can ask away in Expert’s Corner.

Stay on Track

find the right path (track)

Also, new to this year are specific “tracks.” Are you industry focused or a consumer? Well the schedule breaks down with sessions focused to meet specific needs. See the entire schedule of NY TravFest events and learn which “track” and sessions are best for you.

Travel Babel

Here is where you will see me this year – in video. And what excites me is that fellow travel industry folks, experts, and others (it is open for submission) are all participating to share their travel memories and moments with the audience through Travel Babel.

These will not be documentary films, but essentially shorts (under 5 minutes) on how travel transformed lives and careers. Read up on Travel Babel and maybe even submit your own video.

Stay Inspired

Last year I walked away from the festival impressed and more importantly inspired. Sure I had a great time, networked, learned, and shared my opinions, but it was more. Much more. It was a first step to a new kind of travel show and this year it promises to be another step forward. So if you are in New york this April 26th and / or April 27th definitely make sure you join the fun at the New York Travel Festival and stay inspired to see more of the world.

Stay adventurous, Craig

Speaking at the New York Travel Fest is definitely Hall worthy. Chiang Mai will look favorably upon those who inspire and speak.
